iMedius

iMedius is a research project that aims to utilize cutting-edge multidisciplinary methodologies in the field of news monitoring and analysis. Combining advanced digital analysis and social sciences, it attempts to create new horizons for understanding the dynamics of news dissemination and its profound impact on different audiences by investigating various media landscapes.

The project is coordinated by a diverse and talented team of 18 professionals drawn from some of the leading university institutions in Greece. Led by the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, iMedius expands its collaboration with the Centre For Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH), the University of Western Macedonia and the Ionian University while it combines a multitude of research approaches to study and analyze the impact and the consequences of news consumption.

iMedius’ Objectives:

  • Evaluating the impact of news through groundbreaking monitoring procedures that analyze and identify the complex journey of news across different content types and various media platforms.
  • Tracing the complex patterns of news dissemination process by tracking its time flow and its level of interactivity with different media platforms.
